Famille Rose Plate Mid/late 18th century

Hard paste porcelain famille Rose plate from the yongzheng reign, Qing Dynasty 1722/1735 . Thrown and turned body(1260c) bisque and onglaze enamels predominately pink (famille rose) made from colloidal gold. First used in xangxi period china. Sometimes referred to as “Fencai” meaning foreign colour. Three shaped cartouches enclose flowering branches of peonies and chrysanthemum and iron red scrolls against a panel of flowerheads and fine gilt scrolls. The central roundel depicting a cockrel flanked by puce peonies.
